We read a story about the difficulties faced by the Marines and others in our armed forces as they wage the fight on our behalf in Afghanistan.

Wars have always been difficult. We would not expect this one to be a cake-walk by any means, and this entry should also be read as a salute to the folks protecting our families and We the People of these United States.

We also realize that it is for the generals and admirals to do most of the efforts to rally the troops – to remind them afresh about how proud the American civilians back home are of their herculean efforts – to clean out despotism from a society that does not want to have it cleaned out; to bring a modicum of civilization to a desolate corner of the world (not a copy of American civilization – but letting their civilization flourish free from carnage).

But we are very mindful of the fact that George W. Bush knew how to prosecute a war (even if he made mistakes – as he did before the surge in Iraq). He did something we have not seen the current President do: He went into the war theater to break bread with the troops. He made clear in numerous speeches that America had the backs of each and every American soldier, as every good American does.

We ask you, Mr. Obama. You have time to visit Copenhagen to pick up a stupidly given award. You have time to spend time trying to get environmentalism boondoggles going, also in Copenhagen. We realize you can’t have the finest meals that Europe can provide in Afghanistan. We realize you can’t hob nob with European aristocrats and world leaders in Afghanistan. But we think you can hob nob with some people who are far more important to your administration and to the American people: the American military personnel.

You might be coolly received at first, since you have seen fit to dis them for the most part.  (Explain to us again how your decision about troop levels in Afghanistan is so very different from General McCrystals that it took months of agonizing to make it?)  But we believe that if you made overtures to show that you really do have their backs (assuming of course, that this is accurate), they would come to see it and to appreciate it.

This would mean severing ties with your Leftist base. So the question seems to be this: who do you consider more important, Mr. President?  The jerk-water leaders in Europe who will hold America’s coat while we do the fighting that they should be up to their butts in, right along side us? Or is it your Leftist base that would come down on you like a ton of bricks, calling you a traitor for doing the noble thing of supporting the American soldiers who give the Leftists the ability to come down on you like a ton of bricks?

Or will you break bread with our American soldiers, Mr. President. Have you no rallying words for them as they face a very tough, ruthless enemy who doesn’t have his hands tied behind his back because of some idiots back home saying that our guys have to play bridge while the enemy is playing tackle football?

Where are your loyalties, Mr. President? We at O-t-c would really like to know.

Mr. President,

Today you destroyed billions of dollars in holdings with your efforts to demonize bankers and Wall Street investors – yet again. The DOW was down more than 200 points – the second day in a row – after the second day in a row that you started with your meddling again.

Now that you can no longer blast the insurance companies and Big Phram because you got your butt kicked in Massachusetts, you’re looking for a new boogie man, and you’ve settled on the investor class again.

Are you really that evil or that stupid, Mr. President? Have you learned nothing from your whoopin’ in Massachusetts? We the People are on to you. We see through your lunatic, narcissistic ideas, and we’re sick of them.

You said you were against torture. So why are you torturing us?

Of course, if you keep it going, We the People will give you many more Republicans and some Independents to work with come November.  We only wish that it was now – right now – the day of the November 2010 election.

Day 315

(If you haven’t, please read Part 1 of this thread.)

We watched the President in front of West Point yesterday. Before we get into it, let’s remind you of what we said in our last post. “Second of all, we are looking to see what is so very different from McCrystal’s request and the President’s decision. If the two are nearly the same, with a small variation in troop numbers, we’re going to (a) welcome Obama’s decision for being close to the right one, but (b) we’re going to blast him to hell for taking so long to do what should have been an easy decision.”

It appears that Obama more or less went the McCrystal route. So – we give him props for doing the right thing. We sack him for taking so long to get to what should have been an easy challenge. We have great trepidation about what happens when he’s faced with a real challenge. With any luck, we’ll never find out.

We also said this: “So we’re looking for you to go in and kick butt, Mr. President. We’re looking for you to tell the troops to stop holding one hand behind their backs, that you’ve got their backs, that you are in this for just one thing: to win this war.  We don’t want to hear about an exit strategy. We want you to win this war. Period.”

He didn’t do this. He gave a weak-kneed, school girly, wimpy, no-confidence, weasely, unmitigated disaster of a speech in this department.

Not once did he say that we were going to be victorious in this war. Not once. Clearly he has no interest in winning the war. He apparently has interest in only looking like he’s doing the right thing instead of actually doing the right thing. This is potentially a disaster.

Even if we were to agree that building Afghani forces to the point that they could “take over the fight” might be a good thing, it also might be an unnecessary thing if he would fight to win! Fight to win, Mr. President. Why is that so hard for you to imagine? Why is it so hard for you to come out and say? Is this what being a liberal, socialist, marxist is? You really only bully those who you can villainize and shrink before a real fight?

We were attacked by Al Qaieda. Let’s say, for a minute, that Bush let his eye off the ball. At least he was in the game to win it!

You – with your professorial manner and your teleprompter and your sycophantic press – you won’t even really commit to a real fight against our enemy. You’re much better at making Afghanistan’s allegedly fraudulent government America’s real enemy. You put them on notice instead of Al Qaieda.  Why is that, Mr. President?  We don’t believe you really want Al Qaieda to win. But it is very difficult for us to imagine a sane and legitimate reason why you aren’t using “fighting words” to rally the troops, to demonize our real enemies, to use bombs with names like Osama on them like we did in World War II.

We are very concerned for the welfare of our troops. We said this last time, Mr. President: “If you’re heart’s not in it, Mr. President, we want you to bring our troops home. Not just from Afghanistan and Pakistan, but from around the world. We want you to then hoist a white flag above the American flag to show our enemies that you have given up on America being a strong military presence, and that you (not our troops) are really a coward with no stomach to go against your lunatic base of communist thugs. In short, Mr. President, if you’re not going to do it right, show the American people what you really are, and surrender.”

We think that yesterday’s speech comes very close to showing us that you should be raising the white flag, Mr. President. Call it quits. Instead of putting our troops into harms way for a battle you don’t really want to fight, instead of wasting our money on a fight you won’t win through the will of, say a Rocky Balboa in Rocky IV, if you can’t find the necessary steel of character to be a REAL Commander-in-Chief, call it quits, raise the white flag, and surrender our sovereignty to Russia and China. You’ve got people in your administration who are in love with Mao, so you should be quite comfortable as one of China’s serfs.

Day 300!

Mr. Holder,

You are now on record saying that you have evidence that the public hasn’t seen that will be used to convict a bunch of terrorists in the context of a civilian court trial.  Obviously, you can’t guarantee a conviction, because if you could, it would clearly amount to a kangaroo court. (You’re not saying that the courts are going to be kangaroo courts, are you, Mr. Holder?) That means that there is a risk that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his pennyweight brained minions (President Obama isn’t the only one who has minions) will be either acquitted or released due to a technicality.

We ask a very simple question of you, Mr. Holder.

If these barbarians are found not-guilty (which would be an atrocity piled atop the 911 atrocity), will you commit Seppuku, otherwise known as hari-kari? It would be the honorable thing to do, and it would show that you are willing to risk your own life with the outcome of a trial which most Americans don’t want happening on our soil.

We find it amazing how often the Obama Dismantelization Project is out of touch with its reality. We don’t recall a President who ever truly tried to destroy America from within. Thankfully, the American people began to wake up in July and we might just be able to save this Republic of ours come November 2010.

In the meantime, Mr. Holder, could you please just do no harm? Is that too much to ask for?

President “It’s all about me” Obama is in Asia today. Instead of being by the coward, Eric Holder’s side when he announced the craven decision to soil America’s soil by bringing mass murdering terrorists into New York to face a trial in our civilian courts, he is out there telling the Japanese how visiting Hiroshima and Nagasaki would be “something that would be meaningful to me.”

What is it with our Putz-in-Chief? When he went to the Olympics his case included such selfless comments like it would be great to have the Olympics in a place close to his home. (His wife was even worse.)

We have no problem with an American president, including the Putz, visiting the bombed cities and bringing closure to a war that includes chapters in both countries’ histories that we’d rather put behind us. That we can’t after nearly 70 years indicates the enormity of what happened there. An American president visiting cities bombed by one of his predecessors in a dramatic effort to bring a close to a war started by a then vanquished foe; now a close friend and ally would be a remarkable thing.

Leave it to Obama to sully such a thing by making it about him.

Have you no sense of proportion, Mr. President. Have you no sense of the sacrifice made by the veterans of World War II who made it so your sorry behind could be in the Oval Office?

When have we ever had a president with a soul this small? Ever?

The word “narcissism” doesn’t even begin to tell the tale.
