We read a story about the difficulties faced by the Marines and others in our armed forces as they wage the fight on our behalf in Afghanistan.
Wars have always been difficult. We would not expect this one to be a cake-walk by any means, and this entry should also be read as a salute to the folks protecting our families and We the People of these United States.
We also realize that it is for the generals and admirals to do most of the efforts to rally the troops – to remind them afresh about how proud the American civilians back home are of their herculean efforts – to clean out despotism from a society that does not want to have it cleaned out; to bring a modicum of civilization to a desolate corner of the world (not a copy of American civilization – but letting their civilization flourish free from carnage).
But we are very mindful of the fact that George W. Bush knew how to prosecute a war (even if he made mistakes – as he did before the surge in Iraq). He did something we have not seen the current President do: He went into the war theater to break bread with the troops. He made clear in numerous speeches that America had the backs of each and every American soldier, as every good American does.
We ask you, Mr. Obama. You have time to visit Copenhagen to pick up a stupidly given award. You have time to spend time trying to get environmentalism boondoggles going, also in Copenhagen. We realize you can’t have the finest meals that Europe can provide in Afghanistan. We realize you can’t hob nob with European aristocrats and world leaders in Afghanistan. But we think you can hob nob with some people who are far more important to your administration and to the American people: the American military personnel.
You might be coolly received at first, since you have seen fit to dis them for the most part. (Explain to us again how your decision about troop levels in Afghanistan is so very different from General McCrystals that it took months of agonizing to make it?) But we believe that if you made overtures to show that you really do have their backs (assuming of course, that this is accurate), they would come to see it and to appreciate it.
This would mean severing ties with your Leftist base. So the question seems to be this: who do you consider more important, Mr. President? The jerk-water leaders in Europe who will hold America’s coat while we do the fighting that they should be up to their butts in, right along side us? Or is it your Leftist base that would come down on you like a ton of bricks, calling you a traitor for doing the noble thing of supporting the American soldiers who give the Leftists the ability to come down on you like a ton of bricks?
Or will you break bread with our American soldiers, Mr. President. Have you no rallying words for them as they face a very tough, ruthless enemy who doesn’t have his hands tied behind his back because of some idiots back home saying that our guys have to play bridge while the enemy is playing tackle football?
Where are your loyalties, Mr. President? We at O-t-c would really like to know.

America
Rising?
Day 1?
Massachusetts, you made us proud. You not only voted for Scott Brown, but you did so with such ferocity that it was an ACORN-SEIU-proof vote. No Black Panthers could stop this train. No SEIU thugs could beat you into submission. None of the President’s minions could stop We the People.
As in the formative days of this country, Massachusetts, you have led the way!
What a difference a day makes. It almost – not quite – makes us think about retiring this blog! Of course, that would be premature. We cannot rest until the Obama-Pelois-Reid hydra is removed from the seats of power and America can once again breathe free.
But what a night! What a night.

America
Coming
Back!
While it’s all still preliminary, it appears that the conservatives are having a good day with this election cycle. All we can cautiously say is: Hooray!
We want to send a special salute to the following people, in order of importance:
- James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles (with honorable mention to Andrew Breitbart & Company and FoxNews) – You two are heroes in our book. Because of you, Acorn was sidelined. In close elections, Acorn could be counted on to be a difference-maker in terms of phony-baloneyism. You two did the hard work and with the help of Breitbart and FoxNews, you put enough heat on Congress to kill their funding. The power of this cannot be overstated. It’s huge. Kudos and thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
- The Town Hall attendees and the Tea Party folks – You have taken the tactics of the Left, and applied them – with class and style – to speak truth to power. May we continue on our way. May this be a harbinger of things to come.
- FoxNews – not just for being fair and balanced – but for bringing stories that truly showed Americans of all stripes how sycophantic other so-called newspuppy organizations are. While they were content to be patted on the heads and be told, “Good girl! Good girl!,” you faced the ire of the White House, you took the slings and arrows of others in the media, until the White House overreached even beyond the point the that “good girls” could accept (when they tried to cut FoxNews from the pool), and they were shamed into supporting the First Amendment instead of their fearless leader.
- Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Laura Ingram, Michelle Malkin, and the raft of others in talk radio, the blogosphere, etc.
The current has not yet fully turned. And we don’t know how Obama and his evil Witch in the attic, Pelosi will take this election. So we’re not celebrating just yet. And we are also still very mindful of how the GOP sided with what’s her face – Scozzafava – until it became clear to all that she was no conservative – should never have been the Republican nominee.
We hope the GOP has learned from this that they need to be true to the core of conservatism; otherwise there will be a third party for conservatives who have felt for a very long time that they’ve had no real political home.
But tentatively, this is a very good night indeed.

Can this President become more of a putz than he already is? We believe he can! We believe that he is congenitally incapable of decency. We believe that if he had the power and could get away with it, he would track us down and kill us (if that’s not already in the works). The only thing that stops a bully is when good people in a position to do something do it.
Such happened today and we will, for this entry at least, not denigrate the mainstream press. First watch this video:
How petty and bullying is this President? How childish. And the Left loves him? What does that say about people who are supposedly “tolerant” of all viewpoints? Obviously it says that they are not. It says that they believe in Animal Farm – in Orwell’s, “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”
So – the Putz-in-Chief (or doesn’t the buck stop with you, Your Putzness?) tries to censor (there is no other word for it) FoxNews.
And glory be! The other news media tell His Putzness to take a hike! Woo hoo!
Congratulations to all members of the Presidential News Pool Feed. You did an Atlas Shrugged! And look what happened. The Putz-in-Chief backed down! Cowards always back down! A person of principle would have told the other news media to take a hike, and just not communicated. But Obama is not a man of principle. He is a coward and a bully; he has surrounded himself with other cowards and bullies. And it requires people who happen to be in a position to do something to do the thing that prevents them from subverting the Constitution; from destroying America.
Make no mistake about it: we are seeing the Putz-in-Chief’s true colors through the prism of action in their moves against FoxNews. And this is a good time to remind you of an old poem – that used to be a liberal’s mantra.
First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.
Replace the communists with FoxNews. Which party will displease Obama next?
We wonder where real liberals are today?
Maybe – just maybe they showed up today when they said, “NO!” to the Putz in the White House. Today, the other news media were real heroes who kept the White House from destroying the Constitution. We salute you, and we hurl rotten tomatoes at Obama’s likeness every chance we get.

Saturday Night Live did a skit where an Obama impersonator lampooned his achievements. We believe that this is one of the best of the best skits we have ever seen. Not just because finally – finally – FINALLY – someone is lampooning the idiot in the White House, but because the lampooning is more or less factually accurate.
We don’t know how long this is going to be allowed to stay up. We like to tell you to download a private copy before NBC takes it down. But of course, that would be wrong.
Update: The place where we originally found the video had it removed. Not that we encourage you to download your own copy, but did you? Mmm mmm mmm. Fortunately we found it elsewhere. We don’t know how long it will be kept here either. But for now, you can view it. And whenever we find it taken down, we will look for additional venues. What we really hope is that there will be some off-shore outfit that can host the video and not respond to NBC’s threats regarding copyright infringement. (Normally, we value copyright and detest infringement, but in this case we look at it as a form of civil disobedience – speaking truth to power, and all that.)
