Is Robert Gibbs competing with Nancy Pelosi – for the Stupid of the Year Award? Yes, Obama’s pet yorkie (below) was on Chris Wallace’s show, Fox News Sunday.
Wallace asked Gibbs about the swinemale Christmas Day Would-be Bomber; namely whether the intelligence community lost opportunities for valuable information from this guy because he was Mirandized within hours of being taken into custody – rather than being put into military custody.
Gibbs gave some of the most obtuse answers we’ve seen in a long time – almost Pelosi-ish. For instance, Wallace asked this: “The reports are — no, the reports are that he was interrogated for 50 minutes. He was then drugged. They — because he had, obviously, you know, some injuries. They — when they came back, he was read his Miranda rights and he clammed up.”
After some back-and-forth between Wallace and Gibbs (read the transcript, linked above), Gibbs said, “Valuable intelligence was gotten based on those interrogations. And I think the Department of Justice and the — made the right decision, as did those FBI agents. FBI interrogators believe they got valuable intelligence and were able to get all that they could out of him.”
Unbelievable. We have conducted job interviews for low level clerks that took longer than this. No language barriers. No efforts to hide the ball. Just looking for some background information so we could determine if the person was a fit for the companies we’ve worked at. And we’re supposed to believe that FBI agents could talk to a swinemale would-be bomber out of Nigeria/Yemen could be debriefed in under an hour? Boy, Mr. Gibbs, them must be some magic beans you have given FBI agents who can’t do any “harsh interrogation” without violating your Messiah’s sensibilities.
We’d bet a month’s salary that the FBI agents involved are not happy. We’d go farther: we believe that Mr. Gibbs is either completely out of the loop as to what the truth is or he is lying through his thin little teeth. Either Obama is absolutely in the know, and is thus responsible for dereliction of duty relative to terrorism (we believe this is the most likely scenario), or he’s been ill-served and kept out of the loop for plausible deniability purposes.
If there is another attack on our soil that is foiled by citizens and not by professional, or if an the terrorists win one and American citizens and/or residents are injured and killed, we will want Obama’s resignation. He has unilaterally disarmed us. He has unilaterally told professionals what they can and cannot do, regardless of their professional opinions. We believe that this has resulted in an unbelievable opening for the terrorists to perpetrate acts we’d rather not imagine – on American soil.
If that happens, Mr. President, we demand that you resign and that you be tried as a war criminal against the American people.

The ScienceDaily.com website (one of our favorite venues) has an entry about climate variability accounting for the colder than normal weather that the authors say has led some of us to doubt that global warming is real. They say, in effect, that even with a trend-line going up, one can expect variability around the trend-line.
We consider this last proposition reasonable. We agree, from the lay perspective we have, that climate appears as a highly variable set of processes and phenomena. So if global warming was real, we think it would be reasonable to see variability.
But the problem for climatologists, as distinct from environmentalists, is that climatology has been hijacked by the environmentalism movement, which is a quasi-religious, overtly-political, nothing-to-do-with science set of memes that undermine huge numbers of laypeople’s ability to ascertain real scientific endeavor from the political memes that attempt to mimic it. We at O-t-c have a great fondness and respect for scientific endeavor and for scientists generally – when the science is done per the scientific method. When it is politicized, we consider those involved to be on the order of Bernie Madoff – cheaters in the extreme, who deserve nothing but ridicule and imprisonment for trying to steal billions of dollars for their pet projects.

We call on CLIMATOLOGISTS to start doing whatever they can to shut down the environmentalists in their midst and tell them to stand down, to stop making the science unintelligible. It is up to the CLIMATOLOGISTS and the METEOROLOGISTS to lay out methods of research (which would not be skewed toward showing that global warming was real, but would be aimed at finding out what is going on with weather and climate using null hypotheses and other generally accepted rubrics in the scientific method). Hyperbole, data suppression, data alteration, suppression of dissent, calling people you disagree with names, are the acts of those in the area of politics – not in the arena of science.
The problem is exacerbated by the fact that the ENVIRONMENTALISTS want to have taxpayers transfer enormous amounts of wealth to the have-nots because of their political memes. This is unacceptable, and CLIMATOLOGISTS should be at the vanguard of shutting this effort down.
As long as climatologists (and ecologists gtenerally) do not distinguish themselves from and distance themselves from the environmentalism religo-political movement, laypeople around the world will be correctly suspicious.

One of the reasons we don’t believe that there’s any such thing as “global warming” as a real planetary trend (as distinct from a short term blip) is this story.
The fools behind the global warming boondoggle seem to want to have it in every way that’s advantageous to them with ZERO regard for the people who will be footing the bill for their idiotic policies.
This so reminds us of Marie Antoinette when she infamously said, “Let them eat cake,” or more recently, when the Reagan Administration called “catsup” a vegetable in the context of school lunches for poverty stricken people.
The Copenhagen crowd form the quintissential archetype of the word “elite,” and our answer to them is that they should go to Hades in a blazing chariot of fire. Their skin should melt and peel from their souls, and their cries should be heard by no one other than arch-liberals who like lemmings want to follow them off the cliff.
You can’t have it in every way that’s advantageous to you and disadvantageous to those who are going to foot the bill. When you have your stupid meetings in places like Tijuana or South Central Los Angeles; when you dine on hot dogs, baked beans and macaroni and cheese instead of caviar, let’s talk. Until then; go to hell.

While we do not for a minute believe that the health insurance industry is pure of heart, and while we do not believe that it is free of corruption, at least because it is a private sector entity, it can be sued and redress can at least be potentially found.
But the Federal government? Especially under the President and the Evil Wicked Witch of the West? There’s no comparison. Especially with the collusion and complicity of the mainstream fringe media that has been in the tank for Obama from the jump. (We have not forgotten the wonderful thing they did in standing with FoxNews when the Putz-in-Chief tried to grant interviews with the pay czar while explicitly excluding FoxNews. That was amazing. Beautiful. A wonder to behold. And these venues should really think about this long and hard (we’ll go into that in our next entry.))
But Obama plays as fast with the facts as anyone else in this monkeybone debate. Among the monkeybones: Obama, Pelosi, the AMA, Geithner, Paulson, pretty much all of the czars, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Maxine Watters, and the Wicked Witch of the West’s newest sidekick: Rep. Alan Grayson. (Sidenote: we haven’t seen enough of this guy. He needs more face time with the media as we believe he is one of the most effective players on our side. We are wondering if Pelosi personally coached him in stupidity. But enough gushing. Let’s get back to the story at hand. Just remember Rep. Grayson – we want to see much more of you on TV. Please. Do it to for Obama. Thanks.)
Unlike when private industry does something wrong, you can’t easily get redress from the Federal government when it does something wrong. This is one of our biggest objections to the evil public option, brewed in her cauldron by the hag Pelosi.
They are really big on shouting about the unseemly profits of health insurance companies. But, of course, there are facts. And Pelosi, and probably the idiot Grayson, don’t like facts. But here they are: the health insurance industry apparently isn’t making all the unseemly profits that the Dems say they are (what a surprise). (Note: the AP is not exactly a right wing organization.) But with a sycophantic mainstream fringe media siding with the Dems instead of being a watchdog on the Federal government no matter who’s in office, the myths created by the Putz, the Witch and the new Boy Wonder gain undo traction. Thankfully, the mainstream fringe media no longer has a lock on the information that We the People can access.
Just one set of facts that fence sitters ought to consider as they look at the health care deformity efforts.

The dumpy woman with a nervous, insincere smile and laugh, the chairwoman chair of Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers, Christina Romer is now saying that the wonderful effects of porkulus have leveled off, meaning that this is as good as it gets folks without us spending ourselves into even more debt!
We don’t trust economics claims that can’t be measured and quantified. So when Romer says that porkulus “saved or created 600,000 to 1.5 million jobs,” that’s one heck of a range, isn’t it? Which is it, you blind-as-a-bat bureaucrat? Did you save one job per unit or 3? How do you know? Where’s the data? Where is the public data that we can look up and verify your lofty claims, as we sink into ever deeper unemployment and owe the Chinese, the Saudis and other countries unfriendly and otherwise increasing amounts of our money?
When are we going to get some competent people in Washington D.C.?
Answer: Things may begin to improve in November 2010 – maybe. If enough Americans still exist and have not been turned into zombie-like Sovietized Amerikans. And if we still have a country that we can recognize, November 2012 will see the Pretender to the Throne thrown outa there. Hopefully never to return to public life in any capacity whatsoever.
