The ScienceDaily.com website (one of our favorite venues) has an entry about climate variability accounting for the colder than normal weather that the authors say has led some of us to doubt that global warming is real. They say, in effect, that even with a trend-line going up, one can expect variability around the trend-line.
We consider this last proposition reasonable. We agree, from the lay perspective we have, that climate appears as a highly variable set of processes and phenomena. So if global warming was real, we think it would be reasonable to see variability.
But the problem for climatologists, as distinct from environmentalists, is that climatology has been hijacked by the environmentalism movement, which is a quasi-religious, overtly-political, nothing-to-do-with science set of memes that undermine huge numbers of laypeople’s ability to ascertain real scientific endeavor from the political memes that attempt to mimic it. We at O-t-c have a great fondness and respect for scientific endeavor and for scientists generally – when the science is done per the scientific method. When it is politicized, we consider those involved to be on the order of Bernie Madoff – cheaters in the extreme, who deserve nothing but ridicule and imprisonment for trying to steal billions of dollars for their pet projects.

We call on CLIMATOLOGISTS to start doing whatever they can to shut down the environmentalists in their midst and tell them to stand down, to stop making the science unintelligible. It is up to the CLIMATOLOGISTS and the METEOROLOGISTS to lay out methods of research (which would not be skewed toward showing that global warming was real, but would be aimed at finding out what is going on with weather and climate using null hypotheses and other generally accepted rubrics in the scientific method). Hyperbole, data suppression, data alteration, suppression of dissent, calling people you disagree with names, are the acts of those in the area of politics – not in the arena of science.
The problem is exacerbated by the fact that the ENVIRONMENTALISTS want to have taxpayers transfer enormous amounts of wealth to the have-nots because of their political memes. This is unacceptable, and CLIMATOLOGISTS should be at the vanguard of shutting this effort down.
As long as climatologists (and ecologists gtenerally) do not distinguish themselves from and distance themselves from the environmentalism religo-political movement, laypeople around the world will be correctly suspicious.

One of the reasons we don’t believe that there’s any such thing as “global warming” as a real planetary trend (as distinct from a short term blip) is this story.
The fools behind the global warming boondoggle seem to want to have it in every way that’s advantageous to them with ZERO regard for the people who will be footing the bill for their idiotic policies.
This so reminds us of Marie Antoinette when she infamously said, “Let them eat cake,” or more recently, when the Reagan Administration called “catsup” a vegetable in the context of school lunches for poverty stricken people.
The Copenhagen crowd form the quintissential archetype of the word “elite,” and our answer to them is that they should go to Hades in a blazing chariot of fire. Their skin should melt and peel from their souls, and their cries should be heard by no one other than arch-liberals who like lemmings want to follow them off the cliff.
You can’t have it in every way that’s advantageous to you and disadvantageous to those who are going to foot the bill. When you have your stupid meetings in places like Tijuana or South Central Los Angeles; when you dine on hot dogs, baked beans and macaroni and cheese instead of caviar, let’s talk. Until then; go to hell.

There is only one reasonable reaction to anyone who now says that the science in the climate-change-global-warming-communism arena is “settled.” That reaction is derisive laughter as loud as it you can make it. Snide remarks like “What ARE you smoking?” and “Does your mother know you sold your brain on eBay?” are also appropriate. The data is now more suspect than ever. The players themselves are suspect, and no one should give ANY of them an ounce of credibility any longer – if you ever did.
We have been very eager to see the demise of the climate-change-global-warming-communism fools due to Climate-gate. There is now evidence that the data has been cooked, that the so-called scientists behaved, how would the Messiah put it? – “behaved stupidly” (no miscalibration of words here!) as they tried to supress contrarian data, and worse to supress debate by the contrarians themselves. Even so, the socialism meetings (can’t call it a science meeting with a straight face) in Copenhagen is going on with people who have zero integrity. Even the Putz-In-Chief is going – and this tells us pretty much everything we need to know. If Obama’s for it, odds are very good that there’s a big lie surrounding it.
Witness that we have NEVER EVER EVER had a highly visible debate between the varying positions on climate-change-global-warming-communism. We have standing offers to debate by skeptics; zero acceptances. Why would that be?
Now, as one would expect, the UN and others on the affirmative side are doing the “three monkey dance” – see no wrongdoing, hear no wrongdoing, speak no wrongdoing (albeit very poorly). They seem to hope that the American public (because that’s who will primarily fund this boondoggle from hell) will again be opiated (which is probably why the party gatecrashers story, which is nothing but a staged “outrage” is so big, why Tiger Woods’ problems are so prominent, etc.) and will let them divert TRILLIONS of dollars from the American economy.
We are afraid that the American public is very easy to hypnotize and that, especially those who don’t produce a single thing of value, will say, “Eh – it’s not my problem,” and will let America become Amerika.
AlGore and all his brigons should be incarcerated for doing their best to destroy this country. The word “despise” doesn’t even begin to show the level of heat in our anger towards what he and others are doing.
We don’t know if it really is tantamount to treason, but we feel like they are traitors – betraying America to make money and curry favor with a new One-World Government. They should be shunned, scorned and ridiculed by anyone with a patriotic bone in their body.
