This is an open letter to President Obama.
Mr. President,
Yesterday, at Notre Dame University, you called for people on both sides of the abortion issue to treat each other more civilly and to stop demonizing each other. We infer that you mean for this same civility to be part of the general discourse in America and not merely on the abortion issue. We’d very much appreciate a direct remark on this.
We here at Off-the-cliff.com are all for civility. But we have to say that the Right is not the side the fields the most vitriolic, hateful, mean, tasteless and intellectually dishonest speech. That, Mr. President, comes from people on your side of the aisle, including, it would appear, you, Sir.
