Get a load of this. The same Federal Government that wants to manage all of our health care, shows what a heavy boot it is ready to place on your throat if you get out of line sufficiently to annoy it. Since Obama’s DHS can’t go after terrorists in a competent way, they decided to sick the Transportation Security Agency (TSA) after – wait for it – bloggers!
As if that’s bad enough, it isn’t! Not only did they go after bloggers because some directive from their Keystone Cops offices was leaked (how is that the bloggers’ faults?), but apparently the directive includes language that lets some travelers off the hook from the inconvenience the rest of us have to put up with.
From the article: “It also listed people who would be exempted from these screening procedures such as heads of state and their families.”
Oh it’s good to be a king or a tin-pot dictator.
We have NEVER seen this level of incompetence and nonchalance with respect to the welfare of We the People; not even during the abysmal misery-indexed Carter years.

Our fearless leader is quoted as saying that the nearly accomplished taking down of the Northwest Airline over the skies of Detroit on Christmas Day were the result of “systemic failures.”
We are so tired of the buck never arriving at the President’s desk. It always goes to Bush’s desk, even though Bush doesn’t have a desk at the White House anymore. It goes to the various security agencies (where some of the failure certainly does belong). But it never, ever, EVER seems to arrive and stay on Obama’s desk without being deflected somewhere else.
We disagree, Mr. President. We believe that you have decided that what Bush crafted as a “war on terrorism” you have changed, as a matter of policy, to some kind of feel-good-fail-faster policy that makes these barbarians seem like common shop lifters. You call them “isolated extremists.” Well every individual on Earth is “isolated” unless you somehow connect them (“connect the dots?”). We’re betting almost any amount that the bastard who tried to blow up Flight 253 did not have sufficient knowledge to create his so-called “underwear bomb.” We’re betting he had help. We’re betting he was anything but “isolated,” you idiot.
Never have we seen such a coward in the White House. Jimmy Carter was a weakling to be sure. Clinton was a phony-baloney shoe-shining car salesman who would be thrilled to sell you a clunker and call it a “gold car.” But you, Mr. President. You weak-kneed, pansy-waisted, egg-heady, language-miscalibrating, termite-infested stump of a President … a child under 13 would have more common sense than you; could do a better job than you. A 13 year old kid would know enough to say, “If there’s a guy and he has a lot of friends who’s helping him do bad things, you need to get his friends.” But not you, Mr. President. You consider this barbarian named Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab to be an “isolated extremist.”
What planet are you living on, Mr. President? And if we can’t rely on you (clearly we can’t) to do what is necessary to protect us from our enemies, how can we rely on you for anything – e.g., health care reform (a boondoggle if there ever was one), climate change (pure scientific fraud if ever there was one), etc.
You dare to give yourself a B+ for 2009, Mr. President. Only in your own mind. We’re betting most Americans rate you a C- at best, while here at O-t-c, we would rate you lower than an F if there was a grade lower than an F.
In other words, Mr. President, and with all the respect due the Office of the Presidency: you a major disappointment.

With apologies to the folks who created the cheesy kid cartoon, Underdog (which we loved as kids, BTW), we want to address the fact of our absence in the past few weeks. Here’s why we’re posting a bit less and what can be expected in the future.
1 – Obama is politically self-destructing right now. Be it his deaf-ear to We the People when it comes to his health care deformity efforts or most recently with the cowardly shooting of unarmed people at Fort Hood and the attempted underwear bombing by the cowards of Al Qaieda – with Napolitano saying “the system worked,” more and more people are falling out of love with their former Messiah. This is great. We love it, and we don’t see any stopping it because Obama is – well, he’s Obama. The only one more narcissistic than he is is wife (who according to Rasmussen Reports, is also dropping in the polls). So they have a little echo chamber going on, and in their own minds believe their own press – that he’s the Messiah, the anti-Bush, the hippest, coolest President ever, etc. etc., and yawnium.
2 – The health care boondoggle is about to become law. The Democrats will cobble something together because to do otherwise would show the Democrats to be a feckless, spineless, good-for-nothing lot. This is not, as Charles Krauthammer says, merely to save Obama’s bacon. It’s because they mistakenly believe that they can’t admit they’ve made a terrible mistake with this. They have to pass something – no matter how bad it is for America because they have to save themselves (in their own minds). This is a mistake. The way out of a hole is to stop digging it deeper. The Dems will not do this, no matter if the polls were to drop them to the low teens. Thus there is little point to Off-the-cliff.com writing a blow-by-blow account of how this fiasco unfolds. Anyone who reads O-t-c knows where we stand on this. Knows that we consider the Democrats in Congress traitors and destroyer’s of America. We do not believe they operate in good faith. We do not believe they are patriots, even if some members once were. They are the advance guard for turning America into the United Soviet Socialist States of America, and they need to be voted out in 2010, 2012, and 2014 – till there is not one Democrat left in office. PERIOD.
3 – We don’t trust the Republicans either. This spineless, hypocritical go-along-to-get-along bunch sold us down a river that gave us Obama. They tried to do it again with the elections this year. If they don’t wise up to the fiscally conservative clarion calls put forth by conservatives and Independents, a third party WILL rise in this country and that will be the end of the GOP (and good riddance if it comes to that). Most of us at O-t-c are socially conservative, but all of us here are fiscally conservative. Obama gets an F on the economy, and the Rs had better wise up, or they’ll get the same grade.
4 – It’s Christmas and the holiday season generally. So we have other things to do. With Obama imploding under the weight of expectations he set up when he marketed himself as the Messiah (“I have a plan,” without ever articulating what it was – remember that?), we think we can take a temporary break. And with Congress not coming back to further their destruction of America till near the end of January, again, there’s not much for us at O-t-c to do.
So – we’re around – we’re just taking a much desired break.
