Socialism & Medicine
This page will provide ongoing commentary about socialized medicine; mainly from Canada and the UK, but also from wherever we find it. Any Obama-ite who wants to foist socialized medicine upon us would do well to look at these stories and then give us GOOD reasons why we can be sure that they won’t happen here if The Messiah gets his way. Indeed, we’d like The Messiah to answer these horrors.
We won’t be looking backwards very much; we want to stay current; and from what we’ve seen, there’s plenty of stories to make one pause without having to look backward.
A linguistic note: We’re going to use a shorthand: Obama’s socialized medical plan (or similar wording) refers to any plan that includes (a) a public option, (b) a taxpayer financed, government run co-op – which we see as a subterfuge and is the synonymous with the government option or (c) a plan where the government’s hand becomes so heavy upon the industry that it has incredible difficulty making profits and thus will encourage them to go out of business, thus making a “national option” a necessity. We’re not going to be fooled by any of these, and we’re just going to use a shorthand and call any of them Obama’s socialized medical scheme.

Let’s being with a trip to the UK.
Story: One in six NHS patients ‘misdiagnosed’ – Obama has said that socialized medicine would reduce errors. Reduce them to 1 in 6? Where are we now? If it was 1 in 6, we think we’d be hearing a great clamor among the populous to go after our doctors. Yet our doctors are highly respected, almost revered (unlike politicians). So tell us, Mr. Obama, what will your plan include that ensures that this story isn’t repeated here? Hmm?
